INTRODUCTION
1. Course Description
This is a week (40 hours) course in research ethics at KCMUCo and recommended for all postgraduates and other interested individuals. The course covers basic concepts in research ethics, relevant history and guidelines, use of animals in research, the role of ethics committees and other regulatory bodies, dissemination of findings, research misconduct, ethical issues in data management, and emerging ethical issues.
2. Target audience: All postgraduate students and health researchers
3. Aim:
The overall goal for this course is to provide foundational knowledge to postgraduate students and other individuals with an interest in research ethics so as to equip them with theoretical, moral values and practical skills required in the conduct of research
4. Course Objectives
a) To explain the history of research ethics and regulations
b) To understand the function of research ethics committees
c) To attain ethical skills in developing and implementing research protocols
d) To apply national and international research guidelines

Online training format:
1. You will be required to log in to the online course
2. You will be required to watch all videos in order to be able to navigate to the next sections
3. You will be required to read the policy located at the college website www.kcmuco.ac.tz

- The strategies to deal with sexual harassment

NOTE:

- At the end of the course, a certificate will be issued subject to achieving a minimum of 80% of the MCQs.
THIS COURSE IS FOR KCMUCo, CUHAS, AND MUHAS FINAL YEAR HEALTH PROFESSIONALS (MD, BSN, BSC MED LAB, BPHARM)
It has seven below modules:
1. PCMCT module
2. Young woman newly diagnosed with HIV
3. Adolescent presenting with HIV
4. Pediatric HIV.
5. Immunology of HIV
6. Pathogenesis of HIV
7. Therapeutics of HIV
The modules will have some form of narrative talk for about ten minutes, PowerPoint
slides and assessment questions for the students.
And a certificate of completion at the end
